Trinidad and Tobago [Trinidad and Tobago]
an independent country consisting of two islands in the ↑Caribbean near the coast of Venezuela. Trinidad and Tobago was part of the ↑British Empire until 1962, when it became independent and joined the Commonwealth. Its capital city is Port of Spain and its official language is English. People from Trinidad are called Trinidadians and people from Tobago are called Tobagans or Tobagonians.
